Staff Training

Pet-Friendly Staff Training For Every Shift

A dog friendly policy is only as good as the person on the desk at eleven at night. Training is how the promise survives the shift change. Ours is delivered by Kali, our AI canine concierge, so every role can learn it, in their own language, whenever they work.

Why The Front Desk Decides The Grade

Across the portfolios we have assessed there is often a high degree of variance between hotels, even under one brand and one corporate policy. The difference is rarely the building. It is what the guest is told: whether the dog may sit in the bar, whether the fee is per night or per stay, whether anyone can arrange a walk. When we assess a hotel we ask those questions the way a guest would, and the answer depends on who picks up the email. Training is what makes the answer the same.

What The Training Covers, By Role

  • Reservations and reception. The policy, the fee and the deposit, stated straight before booking; check-in that welcomes the dog by name.
  • Housekeeping. The dog room protocol, the extra twenty minutes that matter, and why cleanliness is the threshold every review is judged on.
  • Food and beverage. Which spaces welcome dogs and how to zone them, and the dog menu: what is safe and what must never reach the bowl.
  • Concierge. Walks, groomers, sitters and the nearest emergency vet, arranged rather than recommended.
  • Management. Owning the programme, the number that measures it, and preparing for reassessment.

Delivered By Kali, In Every Major Language

Kali is the AI canine concierge behind Roch Dog, built on the standard and on our dataset of assessed hotels. She teaches each role what it needs, in the language the team works in, on the shift they work, and checks that it has landed. When the team is trained the property receives a certificate. Where an engagement calls for it, we add live sessions and executive workshops in person.

Kali teaches principles and best practice. She does not give legal or veterinary rulings; those belong to your own counsel, a qualified veterinarian and local law, which always take precedence.

Who Does The Work, And How It Is Measured

Kali delivers the training and checks that each module has landed; we run the live sessions and workshops; your heads of department own the follow-through. The measure is the certificate for the property and, at reassessment, the same correct answer on every shift, which is exactly what an assessment tests.

Questions

Asked And Answered

How do you train hotel staff for pet-friendly service?

Role by role. Reservations learn to state the policy, fee and deposit before booking; housekeeping learns the dog room protocol; food and beverage learns the shared space rules and dog menu safety; concierge learns to arrange walks, sitters and vets; managers learn to own the programme. Kali delivers it, in each team member's language.

What languages is the training available in?

Kali works in every major language, so a team can be trained in the language each person actually works in.

Is there a certificate?

Yes. The property receives a certificate when its team is trained.

Does staff training improve our grade?

The grade measures what a guest with a dog is actually told and given. Trained staff give the same correct answer on every shift, which is exactly what an assessment tests.

Is the training legal advice?

No. It teaches principles and best practice and defers to your own counsel, a qualified veterinarian and local law.
